Today we were pleased to welcome to the centre Lee, Mike and John from the Blind Veterans UK charity based at Craig-y-Don in Llandudno. Lee is the PTI at the centre in Craig-y-Don whilst Mike and John are both volunteers there. All three began their RYA PB2 course today under Mark’s tutelage, although the learning apparently went both ways. No dolphins sadly, but plenty of seals in Angel Bay. The Blind Veterans UK charity is a most worthwhile charity caring for our ex-service men and women who have become visually impaired and for whom Mark was happy to provide his services as a powerboat instructor free of charge. We hope this is the start of a fruitful partnership between our two organisations and we look forward to eventually welcoming the visually impaired ex-service personnel themselves to get them out on the water and so aid their journey to gain a better level of confidence and independence.
