Volunteering

DSC_0064Here at Colwyn Bay Watersports our volunteers are really involved at every level of our operation. Motivated volunteers help our managers and qualified instructors to deliver the best possible experience.

In return for volunteering time we can offer the chance to learn new skills in a great environment. The more time you can commit, the more skills you will come away with. We also love seeing our volunteers develop into great instructors and we’ll help you to achieve as much as possible while you are with us.

You don’t need to have any watersports experience to join in either (although it does help depending on your role). Many of our volunteers start as complete beginners, quickly learning as they work with us.

One of our charitable aims as a community interest company is to help people to gain experience in watersports with the view that they may consider it as a future career path. Having built our lives around what we love doing, we are keen to show people that you can work in what you love.

Our volunteer team has a huge age range and a variety of backgrounds but what they all have in common is they enjoy the relaxed but professional atmosphere we have created to allow them to develop. We are looking for volunteers to help us in several areas.

Love being on the water? Enjoy sailing, windsurfing, powerboating, kayaking or canoeing? If you want to help our instructor team deliver great tuition and make sure all our customers have a great time on the water get in touch.

If you have any office experience then drop in and have a chat. We are a company run by watersports instructors (universally dyslexic and disorganised) and desperately need help with all things administration. Drop in for a chat if you think this is something you can help us with.

Fixing Boats

In the workshop – Do you know your way around a set of spanners?

Our huge fleet of equipment needs constant maintenance and repair, as it gets pretty hammered right through the season. If you are the least bit practical, then please get in touch to give us a hand with keeping it in top notch condition. Whether you are more comfortable with a paintbrush or with power tools, or if you want to learn more about boat maintenance, then please get in touch.

If you are interested don’t hesitate to drop in for a chat.
