This weekend we took time off to attend the RYA Cymru/Wales Big Weekend at Plas Menai. Myself, Taff, Sami and Ewan spent all day Saturday taking advantage of the many workshops that they had lined up for us, before watching a rather disappointing rugby match!! The day was finished off with delicious Mexican themed evening meal. Sunday saw Ewan and I jumping into the centres biggest RIB where we practised executing expanding box search patterns under the expert tutelage of Paul and Trigger, two inshore lifeboatmen. The morning was topped off by a tour of the Porthdinllaen Tamar class lifeboat, the John D. Spicer, whose crew had brought her to the Straits for the afternoon. A great weekend was had by all involved, so a massive thanks to Ruth, Rosie, Kerry and all the others from RYA Cymru/Wales and our hosts at Plas Menai.
